If you don't know already, 3.1-a1 is FINALLY out. I created a test board, feel free to check it out.

I still stand by my decision to NOT upgrade to 3.1.x when the final version is out (who knows when that'll be). Upgrading will cause too many problems because of the amount of mods. Most of them will never be converted to extensions and I don't want to lose them. Basically, if I upgrade, I will lose the majority of my mods and probably any edits made.

So S&C will never be upgraded and will remain the last version of 3.0.x.

It is possible that I will turn my 3.1 test board into a live site, but as 3.1 is still far in the future, I am not entirely sure.

It is probably better to just enjoy the site the way it is and if it's what you like then there is nothing to change. because you are right, there is no telling when the final release of 3.1 will be-- we waited a year for a bug fix version of 3.0.11.

To be honest, the average forum user probably couldn't( or doesn't care ) tell the difference between 3.0 and 3.1. they feel alike from a user viewpoint and that's a bit disappointing, imo. The only modern-like improvements at quick glance are the css buttons and few ajax redirects, but anyway its not horrible either and I'm sure it'll improve like 3.0 did over the years.

I agree with your statement.... as I faced more or less the same situation when I had to decide whether to keep phpbb2 or not and so losing all the modifications! At the end... I decided to stuck at phpbb2 and I still love it as the 1st day I added the 1st mod

Anyway...I would like to see as well this 3.1 test board you have launched..... but I couldn't find any link to it

Beta 2 is out but I still stick by my decision not to upgrade School and Chat.

If you don't know already, 3.1.0 is currently on RC5. I expect the final version to come within a month or so

3.1 came out three days ago.

I will not be upgrading S&C. But feel free to check out my test board or go to phpBB.com to see 3.1 for yourself
