Compound & Complex Sentences
Posted: May 9th, 2012, 8:27 pmA compound sentence consists of two or more independent clauses. Each independent clause in a compound sentence can stand alone as a separate sentence. The independent clauses are usually joined by and, but, so, or, for, or yet and a comma.
A complex sentence consists of one independent clause and one or more subordinate clauses.
