Apostrophes
Posted: July 7th, 2011, 3:17 pmApostrophes primarily indicate possession, but they also take the place of omitted letters in contractions (for example, “was not” becomes “wasn’t” and “it is” becomes “it’s”).
THIS IS WRONG!!
We visited the animal's at the zoo.
The dog wagged it's tail.
Use apostrophe only when you're mentioning possession or using a contraction!!!!! Plurals DO NOT HAVE APOSTROPHES unless they are possessing something!
I've seen enough idiotic people on the internet misuse the apostrophe. Totally ticks me off
- Simon’s teacher was in the room.
My mom forgot the dog’s food.
We removed the bottle’s label.
