Alright now here are the basics of networking. All networks use computers called servers. The bigger the network is, the more servers you need. Sounds simple right? Now then, all the servers have to run the same operating system, usually Microsoft Server or Linux (Linux is more secure but that is a whole another thing.). The advantages of using a network is that you will have better control over the internet and what the people do on it that are connected to the network. The cons though are that you have to have somebody sitting behind a screen all day, making sure all of the servers are working.

But, you only need servers if you have a really big network. If you only plan on having 5 or less computers connected to each other, you can use a network hub or make an Ad-Hoc wifi connection. Any questions?
