Dreading College

Yeah, I'm not like most teens. Most teens are excited for college, excited to be independent and live away from their parents. Well, I'm not like that AT ALL. I don't want to live in a dorm room and share it with someone I don't know. It would be better if I had a room to myself, but I doubt I could get one.

I don't want to wake up by myself and walk to my classes. I don't want to deal with the stupid bus schedule. And worst of all, the FOOD.

I
don't
want
to
go
to
college!!!

update

I'm going to the University of Pittsburgh in the fall of 2012, I'll say I'm 95% dreading, 5% kinda excited.

I will be dual majoring (I think, I'm stupid enough to not be completely sure) in information science and business. To be honest I'm not interested in business. I want to deal with computers but I'm not super good with them. So really I have no talent at all.

Actually, maybe the food won't be too much of an issue. The only problem is the healthiness of the food. >_> I am so picky, so I would only eat food I like, and since I won't be eating my mom's cooking everyday anymore I will most likely end up eating rather unhealthy foods. Like fries >_>

The biggest thing I'm dreading about college I think is the DORM ROOM SHARING. I absolutely do not want to share a dorm room, I wish I could have a room completely to myself :(

I know how you feel Jessica. When I went to college I personally didn't enjoy it and was lonely. I am not like most people who goes out during college years and getting drunk that's just not me. So I didn't feel like I fitted in and didn't find anyone whom I connected with. I know it's not like this for everyone and for some it's the best time of their lives. I also know what you mean about not sharing with someone you don't know, and having your own personal space. I was lucky to have my own room, (who knows this may happen with you I hope it does for your sake). In the end though I didn't complete my course and ended up leaving (due to personal issues not being lonely. I suggested you try and find someone with whom you feel like you might have things in common with. I know that's easier said than done.

If during your time at college you need a friendly ear then feel free to PM me (I know you don't really know me but the offer is there).

As for not having talent don't put yourself down since you will have some talents you just have to discover them. Also in regards to being good with comptuers I don't fully agree with that. Look at this place for example you run it and maintain it and install most of the mods manually. If you are talking about building and fixing computers then I am sure you would be able to do that.

I hope college isn't as bad as you fear but like I said before you know where I am if you need to talk.

thank you helper.

It seems like in the UK, where you live, it's easy to get a room to yourself. It's not the case in the US, especially for freshmen. You can most likely get your own room if you have some psychological problem or something.

I wish you the best for sharing and hope that the person you share with is easy to get on with to the point you hardly notice they are there well not to that point but you know what I mean. I shall be interested to hear how it all goes for you, so I hope you feel you can keep me updated (obviously if you feel comfortable I will totally understand if not).

well good news. I just found out this morning that Pitt, the college I'm going to (University of Pittsburgh), does have dorm rooms where you can have a room to yourself. You just have to share the showers...now I just have to find out how far away from my classes and the food place it is...
