Some of you may have heard of the bomb threats at the University of Pittsburgh...when my older brother was there we received several phone calls relating to it.

Today my little brother came home earlier than he should from swimming (he swims at my high school). I found out that there was a bomb threat at my school. I was thoroughly shocked. So I checked my school's site. Sure enough, it was true.

Just some hours ago bomb sniffing dogs swept through my school ...

There will still be classes tomorrow (I bet there will be loads of people tomorrow that will be disappointed about that lol).

I also found out that we'll be getting a letter tomorrow.

here's part of the letter:
At approximately 5 PM, a note was found in a bathroom in the athletic wing. The contents of the note included a fairly detailed bomb threat. The note was immediately turned in to a building administrator.

However, a number of security precautions will be in place throughout the day. Please make certain your son/daughter is aware of the following:
  • The bomb-sniffing dogs will return to ___ again tomorrow morning to clear the building a second time before staff members or students enter.
  • There will be police presence on campus all day.
  • Students will only be permitted to enter the school building through the main entrance.
  • All students will pass through a security search area prior to entering the school.
  • Students may not wear coats or bring backpacks or large purses with them to school.
  • Students who must bring athletic bags for afterschool activities will have their bags searched.
  • Student movement throughout the building and on campus will be restricted throughout the day.

I don't understand the bolded part (I just may be stupid >_>). we can't bring our backpacks to school??

but anyways that's what happened. if anything like this happened to your school feel free to share it. I'll post updates if any.

Personally, the no coats or backpacks part, is (excuse the language abbreviation) complete B.S.
How do they expect you to bring your lunch to school? And the coats part, what do you do if weather is miserable and you are heading outside (for some reason)?

Just my opinion

the weather was nice, so that wasn't a problem

as for lunch, that wasn't a problem either. some people have hot lunch (eat the school's lunch). I just did the usual, bringing my lunch box. I still brought my backpack though. I never even got in trouble for it

Lol, they probably say that, because they don't want to have to search backpacks, because that's just more searching for them.
My opinion again

I see.

A while ago there was a fire at my school, due to a Sr. High Shop Student, using metal on a wood sander.
Considering, he was in Sr. High the teacher wasn't present in the shop, but was in the classroom.
I mean in Sr. High, you would think that a student would be smart enough not to use metal on a wood sander

The bomb threat letter... Could it have been a stupid joke?

I doubt it was a joke, it would have been a really really horrible joke to play...

And considering it contained a detailed bomb threat, I highly doubt it was a prank.

If it was a prank, it was a very immature prank to play
