Mean, Median, Mode, and Range

Mean: the average. add up all the numbers, divide by the number of numbers.

Median: the middle value of the list of numbers that are ORDERED

Mode: the value that occurs most often

Range: Largest value minus the smallest.

13, 18, 13, 14, 13, 16, 14, 21, 13

Mean:

(13 + 18 + 13 + 14 + 13 + 16 + 14 + 21 + 13) ÷ 9 = 15

Median:

13, 13, 13, 13, 14, 14, 16, 18, 21

Mode:

13 because it appears most often

Range:

21 is the largest; 13 is the smallest. 21 − 13 = 8
