### Universal Law of Gravitation

The size of this force depends on:
1. the masses of the two objects
2. the distance between the objects

$F_G=\frac{Gm_1m_2}{r^2}$ where G = 6.673 × 10–11 $\frac{Nm^2}{kg^2}$

r = distance between the centers of two objects

this is the gravitational force between ANY two objects

F[sub]g[/sub] = ma[sub]g[/sub] is used only to find the gravitational force between the earth an object on the earth's surface specifically.

However you can use F[sub]G[/sub] to find the gravitational force of an object on the earth's surface. $a_g=\frac{Gm_1}{r^2}$ ← this will get you around 9.8 m/s²
