Most people will find the forum by virtue of search engines.
You are probably damaging your search engine rankings by having more than one board with with pretty much the same content. Search engines, in particular the most popular, Google, rank down sites that duplicate content from other sites, so:- Any copy and pasting is bad for search engine ranking. To rank better, rather than just reposting a news article, poem, or tip from somewhere else, either just link to it or better add some original content by posting a review, opinion or comment about it.
- Posting subject tips may be good, but not if they are the same ones as on other forums (even if they are your own).
Original content is the key to improving search engine rankings.
It's always difficult to get members involved. Even big information sites, like phpBB.com, that has somewhere around 400,000 members, but maybe only a few hundred active at any one time, and with more than half its members have never made a post, and most have made <10.
